STEP 02

Automatic reconstruction

Part edges are separated from dimensions and annotations, views are detected and cross-referenced, and the drawing scale is verified against the dimension text — stale title-block scales get caught, not trusted.

FAQ

Which files can it convert?

Best results: vector drawing exports from CAD systems (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD and similar) — the kind your customers attach to RFQs. Flattened or scanned PDFs and plain images (JPEG/PNG) also convert in beta: the drawing is read from the pixels and you confirm one highlighted overall dimension to lock the scale.

What do I get back?

A solid STEP AP214 file that opens directly in SolidWorks, Fusion, Inventor and any mainstream CAD/CAM package — plus a conversion report with dimensions, thickness, bend/hole counts and warnings.

How does it handle multi-sheet weldment packs?

Tick All sheets and every page converts to its own STEP, plus one combined multi-solid file with all components laid out side by side.

What happens to my drawings?

Files are processed on the server and deleted immediately after conversion — nothing is stored once your STEP is generated.

What if a conversion comes out wrong?

Every report flags what to check. Manual overrides — thickness, scale, part type and sheet number — let you correct edge cases in seconds. And if a drawing family doesn't convert well, tell us: real drawings drive the roadmap.
